![]() Rhonda the assistant manager was the only professional staff we encountered. ![]() They used to serve the really nice breakfast sandwiches now it’s these inedible egg concoctions. Breakfast was a disappointment although Kim that stocks it was nice. (Didn’t happen till third day there, and that was only for towel refills) Public areas were just as filthy. We kept waiting thinking someone would show up to clean our room the next day. Had we known that we wouldn’t have stayed. (When actually the staff had all quit that day we found out later) Hmmmmm, that should tell you something there. James, the General manager just shrugged, handed us cleaning supplies and said they were short staffed in housekeeping. When offered another room it was worst than the first. The room was filthy and we had to clean it ourselves. Worst customer service we have experienced in our many years as Hilton Diamond Members. If I could give this hotel a 0 rating I would. One might expect that type of behavior at a different, lesser hotel. As a long-time member of the Hilton Honors Program, this is unacceptable. Her reply was, "well most of the guests checked out around 11." Who in the Hilton brand trained this woman? (or rather Did Not Train her). I reminded her that the posted check-out time is 12:00PM. And when I was checking out at 11:45AM the same woman tells me, "oh we were waiting for you." To which I replied, "who was waiting and why?" She proceeds to tell me that housekeeping didn't know whether I was checking out. So after she finally sees that I'm wandering around looking for the elevators, she tells me she forgot to tell me they are in the opposite direction (smh). She made no mention of my room number, the breakfast hours or location, the WiFi instructions, or even which way my room was located. When I checked in, the woman at the front desk simply handed me the keys. However, the lack of customer service falls quite short of Hilton quality standards. The property and the room themselves met the expectations of the Hilton brand. ![]() Usually Home2Suites is one of my favorite choices whenever we've traveled over the years. To this end I will say if you are looking for an extended stay hotel in Dothan where you can cook food for yourself, not have to eat out all the time, and have little bit of space AND the residence is not available then this is an adequate solution, but set your expectations low.… in reading some of the other reviews, it seems that the hotel is likely not funded well for maintenance. We got two pillows and no sheets and where told that we needed to call and let them know when we where finished with the pillows so that they could come and get them. I asked for some bedding to be brought to me so that my daughter could use the couch to sleep on. 2) My wife and daughter where able to stay with me one night on my extended stay here in Dothan. I asked if I could just leave it in the room and he said "No, if you do not bring it back to the desk and check it back in then we will be charging you several hundred dollars for it." He then turned and walked away. I went down to check out the cook top and the manager acted very annoyed that he had to go and get it for me and then told me that I had to bring it back before I left. There where two specific occasions where this manifested itself. Most of the people I ran into seemed very nice but when I asked for anything I was given a very rude response I thought. These things where annoying and definitely would drive me to the residence for my next visit, however the thing that was a real issue to me was the management. I also only had 2 forks in the silverware drawer. Additionally there is a cook top built in at the residence and you have to check one out at this hotel. Room - I got the kind size suite and can attest to the fact that this room is no where near as nice as the plain old residence inn rooms for a very similar price. However, there where several issues: Housekeeping - the ladies where very friendly and the room was generally very clean, but I had no dishwasher pellets, no extra trash bags, no extra toilet paper, and found a clump of ladies hair in the shower drain. Based on that criteria it filled my needs. This was a longer stay so I wanted some more room and a kitchen and the Residence was booked. So I come to Dothan all the time and typically stay in one of the many marriottt properties which I have found to all be excellent.
